Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Fulham's left-footed youth team midfielder Tyrell Ojugo has declared his willingness to represent Nigeria at international level.
A tenacious central midfielder, Ojugo is eligible for the Golden Eaglets through his father and he's also qualified to play for England.
The highly rated teenager is regarded as a player with leadership traits, having worn the captain's armband for Fulham U15s on several occasions this season.
He operates with impressive composure in the middle of the park – dictating play with sharp ball circulation, maintaining calm under pressure, breaking lines intelligently and engaging duels with a maturity beyond his age.
Ojugo is equally adept at carrying the ball smoothly through tight spaces and anchoring transitions with authority, offering both security and progression from deep.
Football runs in the family, with his older brother Thierry Ojugo currently featuring for AFC Wimbledon U16s.
By signalling his desire to wear Nigeria's colours, Tyrell aims to follow in the footsteps of several Fulham players, past and present, including Dickson Etuhu, Ola Aina, Josh Maja, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey, who all opted for the Super Eagles over England.
Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze are set be named in Nigeria's final squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
