Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has highlighted the three qualities that differentiate Akor Adams from Victor Osimhen, emphasizing his strength, work rate, and hold-up play.
Osimhen and Adams have been sensational at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with both finding the back of the net in the 4-0 win over Mozambique in the Round of 16.
While the strike is Osimhen's third of the tournament, it was Akor's first goal at the biennial tournament.
Speaking after the game, Ighalo was pleased that the Sevilla striker opened his account at AFCON, emphasizing his work rate and sacrifice to the team.
"I know he was and believe he is going to score in this game (against Mozambique) because he has been working so hard in the first minute even giving assist and sacrificing himself for the team," he said on SuperSport, as monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.
"When the chance came, he took it and hit it very hard and it goes in. So, I am happy for him he got a goal today."
The former Watford pointed out the qualities that differentiate the former Flying Eagles striker from other strikers in the team.
"Not all strikers have speed. Victor is different kind of striker to Akor. He is the kind of striker that likes to keep the ball, the striker that likes to bully and fight," he added.
"And if you see the game every time is always try to fight and when he gets the chance he shoots."
Nigeria will be keen for both strikers to continue their fine form as its hope to secure a positive result against Algeria in the quarterfinal on Saturday to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2019.
