Lille icon Vincent Enyeama has urged Victor Osimhen to remain at Lille for at least another season amid speculation linking him with a departure from the club in the summer transfer window.
Osimhen is enjoying a breakout campaign at Lille that has seen him score 18 goals in all competitions and has been the subject of well publicized transfer reports in recent weeks linking him with possible moves to Manchester United and Arsenal.
Enyeama, who was on the books of Lille for seven years, has given an insight on the popularity of Osimhen in Hauts-de-France.
In an Instagram conversation with the Super Eagles Media Team on Monday, Enyeama stated : "I am so proud of him (Osimhen), when you go for shopping everybody ask me if I know him and I say yes. I don't know him in person but I know him, he's a Nigerian and we Nigerians are very good.
"He has made a name for himself, he's a household name in Lille. I pray he decides to stay one more season in Lille, that's my prayers for him, if he's going to leave then it's time to leave.
"I am not his agent, everyone has an opinion. I will need to speak to him before I can advise him. Maybe he doesn't like the city probably, you never know.
"I am so proud of the Nigerian representatives in Lille - Odemwingie, me and him."
Enyeama posted sixty-one shutouts in 143 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille while conceding 132 goals.
