Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has put his name in the history books of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament with his contribution in Nigeria's 4-0 win over Mozambique on Monday.
Lookman, who has been in scintillating form for the Super Eagles since the start of AFCON, scored one goal and provided two assists to help Nigeria secure the win and progress to the quarterfinals.
The strikes increased his tally to three goals and four assists in three matches, making him the player with the most goal contributions in Morocco. It also inked his name in the record books of the AFCON tournament, according to Opta.
According to the stat firm, Lookman became the first player on record since the 2010 edition to provide multiple assists in more than one CAF Africa Cup of Nations match.
The Nigerian International had earlier provided two assists in the crucial 3-2 win over Tunisia in the group stage.
As Nigeria prepares to face Algeria in the quarterfinal on Saturday, Lookman will be keen to continue his fine form to ensure the Super Eagles secure a positive result and progress to the semifinal of the biennial tournament.
