Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has tipped Folarin Balogun to have a successful career following the striker's Europa League heroics against Molde at the Aker Stadion on Thursday evening.
Just thirty seven seconds after coming off the bench, the England U20 international of Nigerian descent netted his first goal in Arsenal colours, showing his predatory instincts to fire past goalkeeper Andreas Linde from inside the box in the 83rd minute.
Balogun's impressive form for Arsenal's U18 and U23 teams over the last three seasons has seen him knocking on the first team door despite speculation surrounding his future.
"Balogun, that’s a huge moment for the young man to come on and score. I love the celebrations, the way they celebrated with him, it shows a great team," Hargreaves said on BT Sport, according to Football London.
"He’s gonna have another big career. We’ve got Willock - who’s flying - Nelson played great, Balogun came on.
"Mikel will be really happy with what he saw tonight."
Balogun joined Arsenal at the age of eight and would be departing the north London club as a free agent in July 2021 if he turns down a new deal.
