Fatih Karagumruk winger Ahmed Musa has become the latest player to reach 100 caps for the Super Eagles, following in the footsteps of former Everton center-back Joseph Yobo and ex-Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
Barring an injury in the pre-match warm-up, Musa's 100 caps will be distributed as follows : AFCON qualifiers (31), international friendlies (30), World Cup qualifiers (17), FIFA World Cup (7), FIFA Confederations Cup (3) and African Nations Cup (12).
Musa has insisted that the Super Eagles have no excuses not to beat Central African Republic this afternoon, given that the Stade Omnisport de Bepanda in Douala has a good playing surface.
"The pitch is very good, I don't think we have any excuse for tomorrow's game," Musa told the Super Eagles Media team at the end of training on Saturday.
"Everybody is very happy and just waiting for tomorrow and by the grace of God after the ninety minutes we will be celebrating."
Musa and his teammates have held discussions about the importance of this afternoon's game, knowing full well that there is no margin for error again after their surprise loss to the Wild Beasts in the first leg in Lagos.
"We have talked a lot and we still have another meeting this evening so we still have to talk to each other because we know the importance of the game tomorrow so we don't have to joke with it."
The 28-year-old Musa made his senior debut for the Nigeria national team in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Madagascar eleven years ago.
