Newcastle United are set to begin talks with Anglo - Nigerian striker Sammy Ameobi over the extension of his contract in the coming weeks.<br /><br />The electronic edition of <i>The Sun</i> writes that the 22 - year - old could be rewarded with a fresh deal following his imperious displays for the Toons this season, especially in the Premier League.<br /><br />The ex Flying Eagles trainee has recorded 11 appearances in the topflight in the 2014 - 2015 campaign, scoring once in the process, against Tottenham Hotspur in October.<br /><br />Sammy Ameobi has played nonstop at Newcastle United for the past six years, apart from a brief loan stint with Middlesbrough for a portion of last season.<br /><br />His current deal with Newcastle United will expire on June 30, 2015.<br /><br />Photo Credit: journallive.co.uk<br /><br /><br /><br />
