Nigeria-eligible striker Justin Oboavwoduo has taken to social media to announce that his eleven-year association with Premier League club Manchester City has come to an end.
The England U20 international joined the Citizens at the age of eight, rising through the ranks and signed a scholarship deal in 2022, before going pro ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
Although Oboavwoduo is leaving Manchester City without a senior appearance to his name, he was a key member of the development squad, registering 13 goals and 8 assists in 34 Premier League 2.
He tested himself against senior opposition in the EFL Trophy this season, playing against Oldham Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United, scoring one goal.
On the international stage, he was a member of England's squad to the 2023 Fifa U17 World Cup.
Writing on Instagram, Oboavwoduo stated: "My journey at Man City has come to an end. Beyond grateful for the experiences I’ve had which I’ll cherish for life. I wish all the players and staff the best of luck in the future".
According to various reports in the Italian and English press, the 2006-born forward will continue his development at Italian giants Juventus.
Oboavwoduo is considered as a signing for the future and he is expected to begin his Bianconeri career with the U23 team.
