Nigeria Target Akpom Hops Off Bench To Net Game-Winner As Arsenal Beat MLS All-Stars

England U21 international Chuba Akpom hopped off the bench in the second half and scored the game-winner as Arsenal beat MLS All-Stars 2-1 in a high profile friendly played at the Avaya Stadium on Friday morning.<br /><br />After 86 minutes the scoreboard was reading 1-1, but it changed with three minutes remaining when Akpom tapped home from close range after he was set up by the overlapping Nacho Monreal.<br /><br />Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was one of the five changes made by Arsene Wenger at half-time, while Akpom entered into the fray in the 67th minute. <br /><br />On eleven minutes, Joel Campbell gave the Gunners the lead with a well-taken spot-kick, then Didier Drogba replied for MLS All-Stars just before half-time. <br /><br />Arsenal will return to action on Sunday when they face Chivas in Los Angeles in another friendly game.<br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel<br />
