Nwabali, Bassey, Onyeka and Simon at risk of missing Afcon final if Nigeria beat Morocco

Nwabali, Bassey, Onyeka and Simon at risk of missing Afcon final if Nigeria beat Morocco

Four Super Eagles players are walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations semifinal showdown against hosts Morocco in Rabat on Wednesday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, centre-back Calvin Bassey, midfielder Frank Onyeka and forward Moses Simon are one yellow card away from an automatic one-game ban, which could shape manager Eric Chelle's approach to the game against Morocco.

If any of the aforementioned players receives a booking tonight, they will be ineligible for the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday, January 18, should Nigeria overcome the Atlas Lions.

The London-based Premier League stars are facing the threat of suspension after they were yellow carded in Nigeria's 4-0 rout of Mozambique in the round of 16.

In Nigeria's most recent outing, a 2-0 win over Algeria, Nwabali and Simon were booked in the closing stages of the contest, the goalkeeper for time wasting and the winger for a foul.

It is all but confirmed that Nwabali, Bassey and Onyeka will be named in the starting lineup to face the Atlas Lions, and must be careful not to pick up another yellow card that would trigger a one-game ban.

Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will not be fielded against Morocco as he is serving a one-game ban for yellow card accumulation.
