Official: Free-Scoring Lacazette Joins Nigerian Strikers At Arsenal For Club-Record Fee
FA Cup kings Arsenal have finally announced the signing of France international Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon on undisclosed terms.
Media reports in England suggest that the Gunners parted with £52 million, a club record, to capture the signature of the 26-year-old, who reportedly put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
The transfer fee beat the previous record (£42.5 million) set by Mesut Ozil when he joined the club from Real Madrid in 2013.
Lacazette is expected to be included in Arsenal's traveling party to Australia and is likely to make his home debut in the Emirates Cup on July 29 or July 30.
The striker was on the books of Lyon for fourteen years and netted 91 league goals for the club over the past four seasons.
