Official: Sheffield United loan out Nigerian forward to Turkish club Serikspor

Through official channels, Turkish 1. Lig club Serikspor have announced the deadline day signing of Nigerian winger Christian Nwachukwu.

The agreement between the two clubs will see Nwachukwu join The Wrestlers on loan until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Born in 2005, the attacker completed a move to the Blades last February but is yet to make his senior debut, though he was an unused substitute in a Championship match against Derby County in November 2025.

In a bid to maintain match fitness, he featured for Sheffield United’s U21 side, representing them in both the Professional Development League and the Premier League Cup.

Nwachukwu becomes the second Nigerian-born player to leave the Blades on a temporary deal during the winter transfer window, following Ehije Ukaki, who has joined Greek outfit Atromitos on loan.

He began his development at IBS Dreams FC and FDC Vista before launching his professional career in Europe with Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv.

The 20-year-old remains under contract at Sheffield United until the summer of 2027, with the club holding options to extend for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons.

Serikspor currently sit 17th in the 1. Lig table with 26 points from 23 matches, ahead of their upcoming fixture against Iğdır F.K..
