Through official channels, Saudi Arabian Professional League club Al-Ahli Saudi FC have announced that they have completed the signing of Super Eagles star Godfrey Oboabona.

The central defender has penned a one-year deal that will keep him in Jeddah until the summer of 2018.

Oboabona is joining Al-Ahli as a free agent after he ran out of contract at demoted Turkish club Rizespor at the end of the 2016-2017 season.

The 26-year-old has spent the last four years of his career with Rizespor, whom he joined from Sunshine Stars after helping the Super Eagles win the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

He represented the national team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
