Okocha Believes Madagascar Is Not Going To Be A Walk In The Park For Super Eagles

Former Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha has warned the Super Eagles that their final group opponents in the group stage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Madagascar are a difficult team to get past.

The ex-PSG and Bolton Wanderers midfielder highlighted the qualities of the Island Nation and added that they must have done their homework before facing their opponents in Group B.

When the draw was made, everybody thought Nigeria and Guinea would be the first and second-placed teams in the group but Madagascar currently sit second and could leapfrog their illustrious opponents today with a victory.

Speaking as an analyst on SuperSport, Okocha said : ''They recognized their opportunity of making names for themselves and in football if you get it right on the day you can cause an upset.

''I think they deserve to be in the position that they are because they have done a lot, a lot of research as well because they came into this tournament with a game plan.

''They have been solid and very disciplined, they are a very tough side to beat''.

Meanwhile, Okocha's nephew Alex Iwobi has been rested by manager Gernot Rohr against Madagascar after starting the first two games.
