Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has praised the Super Eagles following their 3-1 victory over Uganda on Tuesday at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The win secured Nigeria’s position at the top of Group C, completing the group stage with three wins from three matches.
When asked about Nigeria’s performance in the match, Oliseh told Nigerian photo journalist Justina Aniefiok: “I think this is one of our best performances, the way the organisation was and the fact that they were not regulars.”
The statement highlights the former midfielder’s approval of both the team’s cohesion and the contributions of players who are not regular starters.
The Super Eagles’ win over Uganda capped a successful group-stage campaign, with Nigeria finishing the group with maximum points.
Nigeria's round of 16 match is scheduled for Monday, January 5, at Fez Stadium, the same venue where Nigeria played all their group-stage matches.
The 3-1 victory against Uganda confirms Nigeria’s dominance in Group C and sets the stage for the team to carry momentum into the round of 16.
With Oliseh’s endorsement, the Super Eagles enter the knockout stage with high morale, aiming to maintain their winning form and continue their pursuit of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.
