Only 14 Outfield Players Training With Nigeria U23s Three Weeks Before Opener Vs Japan
<b>Allnigeriasoccer.com </b>understands that Nigeria U23s coach Samson Siasia is sweating on the availability of some key players three weeks before the national team’s opener against Japan at the 2016 Olympic Games.<br /><br />The likes of Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Kelechi Iheanacho (Man City), Mikel Agu (Porto) and Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor) have been ruled out of the Games owing to commitments with their clubs, while Mikel, Ighalo, Ndidi and Moses Simon are doubtful.<br /><br />As at Wednesday, only 16 players, including 14 outfield players, have showed up at the team’s training camp in Atlanta, United States. <br /><br />Oghenekaro Etebo (CD Feirense), Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United), William Troost-Ekong (FK Haugesund) and Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin) have given their assurances that they will link up with the squad in the next few weeks. <br /><br />Mountain of Fire stopper Erhun Obahor is in Germany to conclude discussions with an unnamed 2 Bundesliga club and should join the squad as from Saturday, July 16.<br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel <br /><br />Photo Credit : thenff.com<br />
