Frank Onyeka has highlighted the qualities he hopes to contribute to Coventry City ahead of a potential debut against Middlesbrough on Monday night.
The Nigeria international joined the Sky Blues on loan for the remainder of the season on deadline day, with an obligation to buy included in the deal should the club achieve promotion to the Premier League.
After being an unused substitute in Coventry City's goalless draw with Oxford United on February 7, the Brentford loanee looks set to make his first appearance tonight.
When asked to describe himself as a player, Onyeka said at the pre-match press conference: "I'm strong, win duels, tackling, taking the ball forward or running with the ball, reading the game."
Onyeka reflected on training alongside Coventry City midfielders Matt Grimes, Victor Torp and Josh Eccles.
"It's good. We are all different types of players. We bring different qualities to the team. For me, it's just about getting in and settling in with the boys."
One of the more experienced figures in the Coventry squad at 28, Onyeka explained how his experience will benefit the club's younger players.
"There are other guys here but what I bring to the team is my experience, try to bring my intensity going forward."
Looking ahead to the clash with Middlesbrough, who recently overtook Coventry at the top of the Championship table, Onyeka emphasised the significance of the encounter.
"It's a big game. I know Middlesbrough are good, they won the last game and are top of the league. We are doing everything to win and focus on the game because obviously it's a big game and who wins stay on top.
"We are just focused on ourselves and we know it's going to be a very intense game, so we're training well to make sure we are ready for the game."
Onyeka has been inactive at club level since October 28, 2025 when he played for 68 minutes in Brentford's 5-0 rout of Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
