Galatasaray star striker Victor Osimhen must tread carefully in Tuesday evening's UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Liverpoolat Rams Park, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Nigeria international is walking a disciplinary tightrope and risks missing the crucial return leg at Anfield next week.
Osimhen is one booking away from suspension, having previously received yellow cards in matches against Atlético Madrid and Juventus.
Under the rules of the new UEFA Champions League format, any player who accumulates three yellow cards without receiving a red card will automatically serve a one-match suspension.
However, all bookings are wiped after the quarterfinals and will not be carried into the semifinals.
Other Galatasaray players also walking a disciplinary tightrope include goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır, defenders Ismail Jakobs, Davinson Sánchez and Abdülkerim Bardakcı, as well as Roland Sallai and forward Noa Lang.
Osimhen, Çakır, Jakobs, Sánchez, Bardakcı, Sallai and Lang must avoid a booking in Tuesday's match to remain eligible for selection for the return leg in Liverpool.
The former Napoli striker has scored seven goals in this season's Champions League and will be aiming to equal Burak Yılmaz's Galatasaray record of eight goals in a single Champions League campaign, set during the 2012–13 season.
