Probably The Best Goal Scored By A Nigerian GK : Freiburg U19 Captain Atubolu Scores From 65 Yards
Freiburg goalkeeper of Nigerian descent, Noah Atubolu scored a goal of the season contender in his side's 4-1 win against Hoffenheim in the A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest on Saturday, February 29, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Seeing the opposing goalkeeper, Nahuel Noll off his line, the Freiburg captain struck the ball home from 65 yards out after receiving a back-pass from defender Dominique Domröse.
Atubolu's spectacular long range strike has made him the talk of the town in his country of birth, Germany.
The 17-year-old has played competitively for Germany U17 national team, against Austria at last summer's European Championship.
In the current season, Atubolu has posted six shutouts in 18 appearances in the A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest while conceding 17 goals.
He wasn't the only player of Nigerian descent that got on the scoresheet against Hoffenheim as former Bayern Munich left-back Kimberly Ezekwem netted on the hour mark to give Freiburg a 2-1 lead.
