Rangers Boss Gerrard Hands Aribo License To Express Himself; More Praise For Balogun

Glasgow Rangers coach Steven Gerrard has handed Joe Aribo a license to express himself on the pitch.

Predominantly a central midfielder, the Rangers Young Player of the Year has underlined his versatility by playing in multiple positions since joining the Ibrox outfit, from left-back to attacking midfield.

Gerrard revealed that the fluidity of Aribo's movements and his ability to change positions can cause problems for opposition teams.

Speaking to reporters at Tuesday's press conference ahead of tomorrow's Scottish Premiership clash against St. Johnstone, Gerrard said : "We work a lot on giving players like Joe (Aribo) the licence to be free and go express themselves but that is for all the attacking players.

"When we are in the position we want to make it as difficult as possible for other teams."

The former Liverpool captain had kind words for his new signing Leon Balogun following a brilliant start to his Rangers career.

"We knew we were getting a top player in Balogun, he is our type and fits our profile and it is important at Ibrox when a team is deep for a defender to be able to sit on the halfway line.

"I spoke to Paul Cook about him and he had only good things to say about Leon," added Gerrard.
