Kelechi Iheanacho Sends Manchester City To League Cup Semi - Final
Published: December 01, 2015Manchester City cruised to the semi - finals of the League Cup on Tuesday night, thrashing Hull City 4 - 1, with Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho among the scorers for the Citizens.
The 2014 League Cup winners were only a goal ahead before the former Golden Eaglets sensation joined the fray in the 71st minute as replacement for Wilfried Bony.
Hull City’s Harry Maguire was booked in the 76th minute after his pocket was picked by the Nigerian and was on his way to launch an attack before he was fouled.
On 80 minutes, Iheanacho extended City’s lead, converting Raheem Sterling’s inviting ball from close range.
Of the three Anglo - Nigerians that made The Tigers starting XI, only one, Moses Odubajo went the distance, as Akpom and Aluko subbed out in the 68th and 73rd minute respectively.
