Published: July 14, 2016
Nigeria are hoping to steal a march on England regarding the international future of highly-rated Manchester United midfielder Tosin Kehinde.
Representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation are working hard to make contact with Kehinde, Manchester United and the player’s camp over his invitation to one of the national teams.
And it is envisaged that they won’t have problems convincing him to play for Nigeria rather than England because he was born in Lagos 18 years ago before he relocated to the United Kingdom.
“We are aware of Tosin Kehinde, the midfield player at Manchester United, ” Team Nigeria UK boss David Doherty told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He was born in Nigeria, when we speak to him we will know his options.
“We are sure he will opt for Nigeria, his own case will be easier for us and we hope to get him at some point. ”
Kehinde is one of the most exciting talents at Manchester United and represented the U18, U19 and U21 teams of the Premier League powerhouse last season.
