Nigeria U23s Coach Samson Siasia Confirms 18-Man Roster Circulating Is Fake
Published: July 20, 2016Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia has confirmed that the list of 18 or 19 players that will defend the colours of Nigeria at the Olympic Games circulating on the internet should be taken with a pinch of salt.
And the former Nantes striker has revealed that the nominated players who will grace Rio de Janeiro 2016 will be announced in the coming days.
Allnigeriasoccer.com first broke the news that the squad list was fake, with a Nigeria Football Federation insider revealing that a number of players expected to be named to the roster were missing.
Samson Siasia stated : “Any list of 18 or 19 making the rounds now is not from me, I will release the list soonest.”
The Nigeria U23s are preparing for the competition in Atlanta, and more foreign-based professionals are expected to join the squad in the United States this weekend.
