CD Feirense attacking midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo etched his name into Nigerian football folklore after scoring a haul in the Dream Team’s impressive 5-4 win over Asian champions Japan at the Olympic Games on Friday morning.
The former Warri Wolves star broke two Nigerian records after scoring in the 10th, 42nd, 52nd and 66th minutes of the encounter at the Arena da Amazônia, Manaus.
Etebo is the first Nigerian player to score more than two goals in a game at the Olympics, and has become the top goalscorer for Nigeria in the history of the Olympic Games, surpassing the record ex-Arsenal striker Kanu jointly held with Victor Agali and Victor Obinna.
