Exciting Winger Shodipo Shines On Debut For Queens Park Rangers
Queens Park Rangers made a winning start to the new Football League Championship season with a 3-0 rout of Leeds United at the Loftus Road Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

As for team news, two players of Nigerian descent in the shape of skipper Nedum Onuoha and Olamide Shodipo made the starting XI of the London team.

Having impressed at pre-season, Shodipo, 19,  has been drafted into the first team, and was handed his competitive debut by manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink against the team from West Yorkshire.

Ex-City defender Onuoha opened scoring after four minutes, bundling the ball home after Caulker and Gladwin had their shots blocked, and would have put his team 2-0 up sixteen minutes later but fired a loose ball over.

Polter added a third for QPR in the fourth minute of stoppage time after he was teed up by the Nigerian-born stopper.

Shodipo was applauded by the home supporters when he was substituted in the 68th minute, while Onuoha went the distance.
