Nigeria U23 Stars React To Loss Against Germany; Vow To Win Bronze
Published: August 18, 2016Nigeria U23 stars John Obi Mikel and William Troost-Ekong have reacted to the 2-0 loss to Germany in the Olympic Games semi-final in São Paulo on Wednesday.
Both foreign-based professionals, who were the most influential players against the Europeans, have put the disappointment behind them and vowed to compensate millions of Nigerian fans by winning the bronze medal match against Honduras.
Mikel tweeted : “We gave everything last night but luck wasn’t on our side. We will keep going for bronze, to make Nigeria proud ð��³ð��¬.”
Troost-Ekong commented : “Gave it everything, now we pick ourselves up again and fight to bring home bronze on Saturday.#DreamTeam #Rio2016 ð��³ð��¬.”
The next stop for the Nigerian team is Belo Horizonte, venue of the game against tournament’s dark horse Honduras on Saturday.
