Iheanacho Makes First-Ever Start In Champions League; Adarabioyo On The Bench
Published: August 24, 2016Kelechi Iheanacho will make his first-ever start in the UEFA Champions League in Wednesday night’s play-off tie between his team, Manchester City, and Romanian powerhouse Steaua Bucharest.
Manager Pep Guardiola has named the Nigeria international in the starting line-up while England youth-teamer Tosin Adarabioyo is in line to make his maiden appearance in the competition, having made the bench.
Last season, Iheanacho suited up four times for the Citizens in the knockout rounds, featuring off the bench in games against Dynamo Kiev, PSG and Real Madrid.
Adarabioyo was a non-playing substitute in two matches in the group stage last term.
