Confusion Over Iheanacho Injury Status, As Striker Declares Himself Fit For AFCON Qualifier
Published: August 26, 2016Manchester City talent Kelechi Iheanacho has declared himself fit for the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania and has promised to show up in Uyo.
There are still doubts surrounding the availability of the former Golden Eaglets sensation after he got injured in the closing minutes of the Champions League play-off tie against Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday.
“The doctors told him this morning he is okay and he will be available for the game in Uyo, ” Kelechi’s dad, James Iheanacho, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Iheanacho was on target against Mali and Luxembourg in the Super Eagles last international friendlies in May 2016.
The 19-year-old is among the five Premier League stars that made Nigeria’s roster, the others being John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses (both Chelsea), Odion Ighalo (Watford) and Ahmed Musa (Leicester City) .
