Arsenal Striker Akpom Replaces Chelsea Whizkid Solanke In England Squad
Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke has pulled out of the England U21 squad ahead of their UEFA European Championship Qualifier against Norway on Tuesday, September 6.

The 18-year-old had to be substituted during the first half of Chelsea U23s 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend after a harsh challenge by an opponent.

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, who was not included in the original list, has been handed a late invitation as replacement for Dominic Solanke.

Dominic Iorfa (Wolverhampton Wanderers) is the other player of Nigerian descent hoping to get game time against the Scandinavians at the Colchester Community Stadium.

Ten Nigerian youngsters have been called up to England’s youth teams this month for international fixtures.
