FK Haugesund skipper William Troost-Ekong was delighted that the Super Eagles ended their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a high by beating Tanzania 1-0 on Saturday.
Troost-Ekong, who turned 23 on Thursday, was born in Haarlem, Netherlands but can claim to be a native of Akwa Ibom State, where the game was played, as his father is a son of the soil.
“1-0 win against Tanzania. Couldn’t wish more for my birthday. In my home state Akwa Ibom! Proud of my Etinan rootsð³ð¬, ’’ Troost-Ekong posted on social media on Sunday morning.
