Akpoguma Shines For Germany As Liverpool Scouts Watch
Published: September 07, 2016 Hoffenheim loanee Kevin Akpoguma played his second game in four days for the U21 National Team of Germany.
The central defender started and lasted the distance as the Germans beat Finland 1-0 at the OmaSP Stadion (Seinäjoki) in a European U21 Championship qualifier on Tuesday evening.
The hosts went behind in the 41st minute through a goal from former Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry .
Representatives of English Premier League club Liverpool were at the stadium to run the rule over Akpoguma‘s teammate, Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, according to reports.
Finland strikers did not trouble the German U21 defense marshaled by Akpoguma and Niklas Stark for most part of the game.
The stopper, who has a German mom, was called up to the Dream Team VI camp by Samson Siasia back in December 2014, but rejected the invitation.
