Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil : I Loved Watching Austin Okocha
Published: September 28, 2016Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil has showered praise on Alex Iwobi, stating that the Nigeria international reminds him of his uncle Austin Okocha, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany before hanging up his boots.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a first team regular at the Emirates after breaking into the quad in the second half of last season.
“He reminds me of his uncle Jay-Jay Okocha. He was a player I loved watching.” Ozil told the Sun UK.
“Alex reminds me of a mixture of him and Edgar Davids. He’s really strong on the ball, also defensively, but he’s good in front of goal too.”
Mesut özil was eight years old and playing for the youth team of Westfalia 04 Gelsenkirchen when Okocha left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Fenerbahce in 1996.
The dribbling wizard, who played at three World Cups, also turned out for Borussia Neunkirchen in Germany.
