Nigeria International Striker Gets Birthday Present As Fifa Rubber-Stamp Move To KV Mechelen
Published: October 10, 2016Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Osaguona Ighodaro has been cleared to make his competitive debut for Belgian First Division A club KV Mechelen after football’s governing body, Fifa, ruled that he terminated his contract with Raja Casablanca with just cause.
Raja refused to pay the striker’s salaries and bonuses for more than three months and still owe Enugu Rangers and the agents that brokered the deal 200,000 euros in total despite all the entreaties and warnings to the Moroccan club
Fifa had written to Raja Casablanca to explain the circumstances but their argument didn’t hold water, so they had no choice but to issue an International Transfer Certificate to Osaguona on Friday, October 7, and this has legitimized his transfer to KV Mechelen.
If the Nigerian is in good physical condition, he could make his debut this coming Sunday against Oostende.
Osaguona, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today, has appended his signature to a 1+1 year deal with the club based in the Antwerp province.
