Manchester City Celebrate Iheanacho And Alex Iwobi Partnership
Published: October 10, 2016
In their review of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Zambia on Sunday, Manchester City have celebrated another goal scored by their young striker Kelechi Iheanacho, noting that he combined well with Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi.
Iheanacho took his tally for the Super Eagles to four goals from his last four matches when registered his name on the scorecard in the 42nd minute, showing his composure to round the goalkeeper before slotting home from a tight angle.
“Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike for Nigeria was also a stand out moment of the day as the Super Eagles began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory away to Zambia,” Man City said via their official website.
“The City youngster linked up well with countryman and Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi throughout and it was the latter who put Nigeria ahead in the 32nd minute.”
The two 20-year-olds, Iheanacho and Iwobi, lasted the distance against Zambia at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium (Ndola) turf.
