Liverpool Talent Ejaria Announces Arrival On International Stage With Maiden Goal For England
Published: October 10, 2016
Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria opened his goalscoring account for the England U20s national team in their 2-0 victory over United States in both countries last fixture in the Four Nations tournament.
The former Golden Eaglets trainee broke the deadlock in the 84th minute, curling an effort into the far corner after running at the USA defense, before Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke added more gloss to the scoreline with the Young Lions second.
While Ejaria came on in the 76th minute, Solanke played the entirety of the contest at Spotland, Rochdale FC.
Ademola Lookman (Charlton Athletic) and Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea) were among the four players that watched proceedings from the substitutes bench.
The 18-year-old Ejaria, dubbed the new Paul Pogba, made his international debut for the Young Lions in their 3-1 win over Germany on October 7.
