Revealed: Zambia President Was At The Stadium To Run The Rule Over Mikel, Ahmed Musa
Published: October 11, 2016
Zambia President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is an ardent fan of influential Nigeria internationals, skipper John Obi Mikel and his assistant Ahmed Musa, according to the Nigeria Football Federation.
The 59-year-old statesman was at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday, October 9, not to cheer the Premier League duo, but to offer his support to Chipolopolo, who began their World Cup qualifiers with a home fixture against the Super Eagles.
Lungu arrived at the stadium a full hour before the game started and was among the 50,000 spectators that witnessed the contest which Nigeria won 2-1.
Chelsea midfielder Mikel was in action for the entire duration of the game but the president had to wait until the 82nd minute to run the rule over Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa.
The Super Eagles will return to action on Saturday, 12th November when they tackle group favorites Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
