Ex-Nigeria Coach Nicknamed The White Witch Doctor Is Possible Candidate To Bring Algeria To Uyo
Former Nigeria manager Philippe Troussier is in the running to bring the Algerian National Team to Uyo for their World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles next month.

The Algerian Football Federation are searching for a new coach following the resignation of Serbian Milovan Rajevac on Tuesday after the players revolted in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Cameroon this past weekend.

Reports from the North African country suggest that the 61-year-old Troussier is among the possible eight candidates for the vacant job.

The seven other coaches being considered are Rolland Courbis, Marc Wilmots, Djamel Belmadi, Rudi Garcia, Luis Fernandez, Georges Leekens and Raymond Domenech.

Paris-born Troussier, nicknamed the White Witch Doctor” has an excellent CV and served as coach of Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, South Africa and Morocco aside from his brief stint coaching the Super Eagles in 1997.

He qualified Nigeria for the 1998 World Cup but was fired before the tournament in France.
