Arsenal whizkid Alex Iwobi drew rave reviews from the Super Eagles faithful after netting his maiden goal in the World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Sunday, October 9.

The former England U16 international broke the deadlock with a volley in the 32nd minute, before City’s Iheanacho doubled the advantage just before half time, as Nigeria began their quest to qualify for a sixth World Cup appearance with a 2-1 win over the hosts.

And the media was not left out with famous blogger Linda Ikeji posting after the game in Ndola : “Zambia 1-2 Nigeria: Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho the heroes, as Super Eagles begin World Cup qualifiers in style.”

Iwobi, 20, made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo in October 2015.
