25) Kevin Akpoguma (1899 Hoffenheim, on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf)

Comments : Akpoguma was lacking game time at Hoffenheim and was farmed out on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorfto increase his chances of playing on a regular basis.

The rugged central defender has aerial and physical presence, and is blessed with leadership skills. The Nigerian Federation are understood to be keeping tabs on the German youth international .

24) Joel Asoro ( Sunderland )

Comments : Swedish-born Asoro is the youngest player of Nigerian descent to play in the Premier League, aged 17 years and 117 days. He is versatile, can play in midfield and attack.

After a year in England, he is on the wanted list of several European powerhouses, with the likes of Arsenal, PSG, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, AC Milan among others reportedly monitoring his progress.

23) Sheyi Ojo (Liverpool)

Comments : Odubajo would have been in the spotlight at the Olympic Games for the Nigerian U23 national team but turned down the opportunity, ignoring the long-term injury he suffered during pre-season.
