Nigeria Coach Clears The Air On Forged Quotes Credited To Him On City Striker Iheanacho
Published: February 26, 2017
Nigeria U17 coach Manu Garba is unhappy with fabricated quotes credited to him on Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho about his lack of game time at the Etihad outfit.
Garba, who tutored Iheanacho at U17 and U20 level, has revealed that he never granted any interview to the local media.
“I did not even speak to anybody in the Nigerian media, talk less of talking about Kelechi Iheanacho. I said nothing of such” explained Garba to aoifootball.com.
“95% of players you trained will not even remember to put a call to you when they are in Europe. Sometimes though, I advice some of them but I don’t discuss a player who is in his club.”
Recently, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr was forced to come out to complain about forged statements credited to him by the same website, and advised the media outlet to be professional in carrying out their responsibilities.
