Key Defender Ruled Out Of Nigeria Vs Senegal Friendly
Published: March 07, 2017
Senegal coach Aliou Cissé will not be able to call on the services of R.S.C. Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji for the upcoming international friendly against Nigeria in London.
According to Jourdesport, Kara Mbodji will not be fully recovered by the time Senegal face off with the Super Eagles at the Hive Stadium on March 23 as he is expected to be out of action for at least ten days due to injury.
Since returning from the 2017 African Cup of Nations, the 27-year-old has been struggling to overcome a knee problem, which ruled him out of the Europa League fixture against Zenit St Petersburg and last weekend’s league match with KV Mechelen.
This week, Kara Mbodji has not participated in full training with the rest of his teammates at Anderlecht.
The ex-Racing Genk star has 39 caps for the Senegalese national team and has scored 4 goals.
