Watford Striker Waiting To Hear From National Team Coach
Published: March 08, 2017
Watford striker Stefano Okaka wants to add to his international caps for the Italian National Team, and is hoping that manager Gian Piero Ventura considers him when he names his squad list for future matches.
Okaka has not played for the four-time world champions for about a year, with his last appearance coming against Germany on March 29, 2016, when he featured for the last 22 minutes in an international friendly.
“Yet there have been no recent contact with Ventura but it’s obvious that the National Team is among the next targets, ” said Stefano’s agent and brother, Charles Okaka, to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
“Stefano knows that if one works in the right way, with determination, things come by themselves.”
It should be noted that Okaka is still eligible to represent the Super Eagles because his four caps for The Azzurri were in friendly games.
The Castiglione del Lago-born frontman played for the U19-21 national teams of Italy before he was handed his senior debut by Antonio Conte against Albania in November 2014.
