Published: March 09, 2017
Super Eagles stars have taken to social media to react after Barcelona pulled off a miracle to qualify for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
No team had ever over-turned a 4-0 first leg defeat to advance, but the Spanish champions completed the greatest comeback in Champions League history with three goals in the final seven minutes to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 6-1.
Here are some of the reactions on social media from Super Eagles players :
Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi tweeted : “What a game!!! Barcelona ?? ”
Fulham striker Sone Aluko commented : “Still speechless. As for this guy though.... as good a performance I’ve seen. Courage and quality in abundance from @neymarjr”.
Leon Balogun said : “Can’t believe what I just witnessed - this is football ð±â¤ï¸â½ï¸ #FCBPSG”
It appeared a bridge too far for Barcelona when Edinson Cavani scored to make it 3-1 on the night but late goals from Neymar (2), and Sergi Roberto secured a win for Luis Enrique’s side.
