Newcastle United Star Announces International Retirement Ahead Of Nigeria Friendly

Newcastle United star Mohamed Diamé is no longer in contention to face the Super Eagles at the Hive Stadium in an international friendly on March 23.
Ahead of the game between the two African powerhouses, Diamé has announced that he has retired from international football after consulting national team coach Aliou Cissé and the president of the Senegalese Federation.
Born in Créteil, France 29 years ago, the midfielder qualified to represent Senegal through his father.
Mohamed Diamé amassed 36 caps for The Lions of Teranga after debuting against Cameroon in March 2011, and scored his only goal against Niger a year ago.
He represented Senegal at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
