Two Nigerian Wonderkids Feature For Manchester United In Six-Goal Thriller
Published: March 14, 2017
Manchester United rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw 3-3 with Southampton in an entertaining Premier League 2 tie at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Two players of Nigeria descent, Tosin Kehinde and United States youth-teamer Matthew Olosunde, started and put in a full shift for the Red Devils, and Olufela Olomola started on the bench for the Saints.
The visitors were two goals up after 50 minutes but Manchester United clawed their way back into contention before going in front with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Demetri Mitchell thought he had scored the game-winner when he converted a spot-kick, the referee had awarded the penalty after Olosunde was brought down by McQueen inside the box.
Kehinde made his 15th appearance of the season against Southampton, while Olosunde suited up for the 16th time.
