Super Eagles Star Utaka Scores On FC Tokyo Debut Off The Bench
Published: March 15, 2017Nigeria international Peter Utaka continued where he left off last season after netting on his competitive debut for FC Tokyo in their 6-0 hammering of Vegalta Sendai in the League Cup on Wednesday.
The former OB Odense frontman joined the ambitious club on loan from Sanfrecce Hiroshima on March 1, and was not involved in the first two games following his transfer.
Utaka came off the bench in the 67th minute and opened his goalscoring account for FC Tokyo when he stroked the ball in from the penalty spot on 75 minutes.
Takuma Abe (2), Shoya Nakajima (2) and Kento Hashimoto were also on target for the capital outfit, who scored five times in the second half after taking the lead in the 27th minute.
Last season, Peter Utaka was the joint top scorer in the Japanese top-flight, with 19 goals from 33 games.
