Tottenham Hotspur Defender Eyoma Named In England U17 Squad
Published: March 16, 2017Tottenham Hotspur defender Timothy Eyoma has been named in the England U17 squad list for their forthcoming European U17 Championship qualifiers.
The 17-year-old is the only player of Nigerian heritage included on Steve Cooper’s 18-man roster.
The Young Lions are off to Bosnia next week and will face the hosts, Czech Republic and Slovenia in a round-robin tournament, with the winner and seven best runners-up qualifying for the U17 Euros this summer.
Three years ago, Josh Onomah, Dominic Solanke and Mandela Egbo played a key role as England won the U17 title in Malta, with the Chelsea striker named top scorer of the competition.
Born and raised in Hackney, Eyoma featured for England Under-15s and Under-16s before he was promoted to the U17s.
