Youngest Player Of Nigerian Descent To Feature In EPL To Link Up With Sweden U21 Squad
Published: March 16, 2017Sweden U21 manager Håkan Ericson has named Sunderland wonderkid Joel Asoro in his 23-player squad list for international friendlies later this month.
The attacking midfielder or striker qualifies to represent the Scandinavian nation because he was born in Sweden to Nigerian parents.
Asoro will travel with the European U21 champions to Marbella where they will hold a training camp March 20 to 28, and tackle Serbia (March 24) and Czech Republic (March 27) in friendly matches.
A former Sweden U16 and U17 international, he has kept his place in the squad after making his debut against Spain last September.
