Gent Rising Star Kalu Continues To Underline His Potential With Europa League Assist
Published: March 17, 2017Gent teenage winger Samuel Kalu has continued to underline his potential as one of Nigeria’s top prospects in the European Leagues after picking up an assist in Thursday’s Europa League clash with Racing Genk.
Even before the tie at the Cristal Arena, it was mission impossible for the Hein Vanhaezebrouck-led side as they needed to score four goals to be clear winners.
And their hopes were immediately dashed when Timothy Castagne netted after 20 minutes to give Genk the lead on the night and 6-2 on aggregate.
Six minutes from time, Louis Verstraete became the Europa League’s youngest goalscorer this season when he scored the equalizer, with Samuel Kalu providing the assist for his goal.
The outstanding talent put in a full shift along with Nigeria internationals Moses Simon and Rabiu Ibraham.
