Updated : Liverpool Star Sadio Mane Targets Win Against Nigeria
Published: March 20, 2017The poster boy of Senegalese football Sadio Mané has predicted that The Lions of Teranga will beat the Super Eagles when the two African powerhouses clash on Thursday in an international friendly in London.
Three-time African champions Nigeria have not been beaten by their next opponents in the last fifteen years, with their last defeat coming on February 7, 2002.
Liverpool winger Mane has turned a blind eye to those statistics, stating that Senegal will beat Nigeria if current form is anything to go by.
“Senegal is the best, Nigeria not best anymore. Senegal will beat you guys in London, ” Mane told Jalili Olademeji, according to scorenigeria.com.ng.
In the updated Fifa ranking, Senegal are ranked second in Africa while the Super Eagles occupy seventh position.
